Dr. Phani Bodavula, MD, FAAP

Dr. Bodavula is a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He earned his medical degree in 2006 and completed his first pediatric residency in South India. He then worked as a clinical researcher at Washington University in St. Louis, where he took part in a variety of research projects, before completing a second pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. His clinical interests include newborn care, asthma management, and pediatric infectious diseases.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bodavula has worked in many areas of pediatric care. He has served as an inpatient pediatric hospitalist in Wisconsin and Texas, where he taught medical students and residents. He has also cared for children at Parkland Community Health clinics in Dallas.

Working with diverse patients in both hospital and clinic settings has taught him the importance of compassion and trust in pediatric care. Dr. Bodavula and the dedicated team at Garland Pediatric Practice strive to give every child a welcoming, comfortable environment while providing the highest quality medical care.
