Overview
Your baby's first weeks set the tone for everything that follows. Newborn care is the close, hands-on attention your baby gets right after birth, when small issues are easiest to catch and feeding and sleep are still finding their rhythm.
Care starts in the hospital and continues at our office. At each visit your pediatrician examines your baby head to toe, runs the screenings that flag health concerns early, and gives the vitamin K injection and the first vaccines on the CDC schedule.
Visits begin with a follow-up 1 to 3 days after you go home, run weekly for the next two to three weeks, then shift to monthly as your baby grows. Bring your questions about feeding, sleep, and diapering — this is the time to ask.
