Overview
Before your child joins a team, a sports physical confirms they're healthy enough to compete safely. We check overall fitness and look for conditions that could affect performance or, more importantly, put them in danger during hard physical activity.
The visit is a head-to-toe exam: vital signs, a review of medical history, a heart and lung check, and an assessment of reflexes, flexibility, and strength. We're watching for any underlying issue a routine day wouldn't reveal.
To make the visit count, bring your child's current medications, immunization records, medical and family history, insurance card, details on known allergies, prior surgery history, and any school forms that need signing.
